Walk Your Plans for Homeowners

Walk through your life-size floor plan, align on decisions, and reduce costly changes before construction begins.

Building or remodeling a home comes with hundreds of decisions, and many of them are hard to visualize on paper. Walk Your Plans helps homeowners experience their floor plan at full scale so questions get answered early, confidence increases, and costly surprises are avoided.

Why Homeowners Choose Walk Your Plans

Resolving layout questions together instead of during construction

Most homeowners don’t run into trouble because of bad intentions — they run into trouble because plans are hard to picture. On average:

  • A single change order costs around $2,500

  • New builds often see 5–10% of the total construction budget spent on change orders

  • Many of those changes stem from layout, flow, or scale issues that weren’t obvious on paper

A session at Walk Your Plans is far less than 1% of your overall construction budget, yet it can significantly reduce the risk of change orders by helping you catch issues before walls are up — when changes are still inexpensive. It’s a small upfront investment with the potential for a big payoff.

Catch Problems Early, Before They Cost More

When you can physically walk your plan, things become immediately clear:

  • Rooms that feel tighter or larger than expected

  • Hallways, door swings, and transitions that don’t flow

  • Furniture layouts that don’t quite work

  • Spaces that look fine on paper but feel off in real life

These are exactly the kinds of issues that often lead to change orders later, and they’re much easier to address now than during construction.

Get Everyone on the Same Page, Literally

In many households, one person can visualize plans easily… and the other struggles.

That disconnect can slow decisions, create second-guessing, or lead to late changes once the space becomes “real.” Walk Your Plans brings everyone into the same physical experience so decisions are made together, not in parallel.

We encourage you to bring:

  • Your partner or spouse

  • Family members who help you make decisions

  • Friends whose input you trust

Kids are welcome, too — and often help parents think differently about how spaces will actually be used.

When everyone walks the plan together, alignment happens faster — and moving forward feels easier.

How the Walk Your Plans Experience Works

You don’t need design experience or special preparation. The process is simple and guided.

  1. Send us your plans
We prepare your floor plan for full-scale projection.

  2. Walk your home at life size
Your plans are projected on the floor so you can physically move through each space, room by room.

  3. Test layout and flow
We help you evaluate circulation, furniture placement, and how rooms connect in real life.

  4. Capture decisions as you go
Using our interactive Vibe Board, notes and changes are marked directly on your plans. After your session, annotated plans are emailed to you so they’re easy to share with your builder, architect, or designer.
